Hello to my Simple Stories friends! How is everyone's summer going? It's so crazy to think that we are now in August! Truly scary how that happens every single summer...what's even scarier than summer days slipping by so fast? Creating Halloween layouts!! Okay, perhaps not all that scary at all...it's been pretty fun creating with the new Spooky Nights collection I must admit.
Can you handle the cuteness factor that's going on with this collection? I am in love with all of the images in this set...every single one! I know that I'll be making lots more using this collection come fall. I didn't use any of the ghosts on this layout but they're so adorable that I am already thinking about what I want to use them on!
For this layout I focused on my photos and concentrated more on choosing embellishments that helped tell the story that I wanted to share. One of a fun evening of trick-or-treating with my mad scientist!
I cut one of the journaling tags so that I had the tab that reads "October 31" sticking out from my journaling block. Never forget that you can alter embellishments, tags, stickers, etc. to work for you and what you want on the page!
I knew that with my photos being center stage I'd keep my embellishments minimal but I had fun choosing the ones that I did use. The puffy stickers, chipboard pieces, die-cuts, and decorative brads were just perfect for adding more fun to my layout.
I added the "Spooky" pennant banner at the last minute along the bottom of my photo block. Super cute don't you think?
Do you enjoy scrapbooking events like Halloween outside of the season itself? I really enjoy working ahead or sometimes pulling photos from waaaay back to play with when new collections come out. It's a fun way to not only get caught up on scrapbooking projects but also is a great way to look back and recall fun memories from past celebrations. Just today I was talking with my daughter about what it is she thinks that she'll be choosing as her costume this year for Halloween! So great!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy these last weeks of summer!
