Hiya Simple Stories fans! Suzanna here today to share with you a multi photo Animal Kingdom layout that features a pocket for pull out journaling which was created using the Say Cheese - Adventure collection. Those of you who have been to Disney know that not only are there photos galore but there’s always plenty of story to go with them. What better way to document that than with a photo collage which has a pocket hidden behind that houses a large piece of cardstock for journaling?
There is a “handle” or flap which provides sturdiness to the larger piece of cardstock for movement in and out of the pocket. This was easily created with a cardstock hinge attached to the back of the journaling piece and folded over to be the backing for the foam Adventure sticker. Designer tip - Take a piece of wax paper and rub the sides of the journaling piece and slide it in and out of the pocket to get a smoother glide.
Embellishments always abound with Simple Stories collections and so I used a mix of Sticker book stickers, foam and stickers around the edges of the photo grid to soften the grid, per se. Or, make the box appear less boxy.
Another design trick when it comes to grid layouts is to have an anchoring strip, as I have done at the bottom of the page with a strip of patterned paper, some washi and simple embellishments. This of sets the grid with a span of white space nicely.
