Hi everyone, welcome back on the Simple Stories blog, Cristina here today to show you a new project made with the Hello today brand new collection.
I share with you a mini album with the dimensions 8x4.5 inches.
Finally a breath of fresh air thanks to the soft colors and versatile designs of this collection. Each sheet is dedicated to a month of the year and you can choose to use the side with the full-page pattern or cut out the back using the journal cards or the various drawings inspired by the month.
I wanted to make a gift to a friend who had lots of unused photos of a vacation with dear friends and I chose to print the photos in black and white to give more prominence to the decorations.
The structure was created as I added the pages without a precise starting idea and it was really fun to find out what I had done at the end. Probably if I had to do it again it would be completely different this time, lol :)
I printed the photos full-page to be able to dedicate the decoration part on the previous page having a lot of space available and then I'm able to apply the decorative techniques I prefer such as layering, clustering and the rule of thirds.
I think that studying the decorative composition of a photo is essential to obtain a high impact visual effect, who knows if I succeeded? ;)
This is my project full of decorative elements that Simple Stories collections offer us, as usual my favorites are brads and puffy stickers, but in this album I also used foam stickers a lot because the big phrases are perfect and also perfectly match each other, ephemera die-cust, lbel, tags and chipboard allowed me to create well balanced and harmonious combinations.
I hope you like my project and if you have any questions please leave me a comment in the form below and I’ll keep in touch with you.
Thanks for joining me today and see you next time.
Bye.
