The Good Life! by Christine Meyer

The Good Life! by Christine Meyer
The Homegrown Collection is a colorful, lighthearted collection packed with scenes from Americana, farm life, and some fabulous puns! Christine joining you today to show you how I used it to document a day that my son spent on the farm with one of our church members.

My son got to feed calves so I knew that I wanted to use some of the cow themed products. I also knew I could pull red and green from the pictures. All of those contributed to my patterned paper choices.

I cut out a ten inch circle in the red patterned paper. I then cut along the wood lines and Then reattached them to a background circle. I pulled up the edges to mimic the look of wood planks. But I didn't stop there, I knew I wanted to include the cow patterned paper in a big way too.

I punched out hearts from the cow patterned paper. I opted to use the 6 X 8 paper pad for this part because I wanted the smaller scale print. I added all the hearts around the outside of my circle, mimicking a scallop look. I also added 3D Foam Adhesive beneath one part of the heart to make it look pulled up. All of this makes a lot more sense when you see it, so be sure to head over to my YouTube Channel to catch all the details!

Having created a fun background, it was time to add a title and embellishments!  I used the Page Pieces pack for my title and the beginning of my embellishing. I always find Page Pieces a good place to start, it's easy to look through that smaller package and figure out where to go with things!

The clusters all have sunflowers in common! I loved how they looked and there was a good variety of options to use.

I also used something with blue in each cluster to try to bring in an additional color.

Even if you don't have farm pictures, there are so many ways to use this collection. Don't feel locked in to that theme but consider different puns and silly titles that you could make work for this collection. I will definitely be playing with it more!
Thanks for stopping by today!
