Hi Friends! Andrea with you today sharing a new project using the beautiful Hearth & Home collection by Simple Stories. Working on this DIY project, I definitely felt closer to my mom and dad who I miss so much. I started thinking of our family traditions and all the things we’ll be doing together next time we meet. The colors and designs in this collection are to die for. I am sure you are going to love the Hearth & Home collection as much as I do.
I was inspired by the cut apart pages from the collection kit and wanted to incorporate as many as possible. The 4x6” recipe cards, tags, and smaller pieces were just too cute not to include in this project. And because I love mini albums so much, I needed to also make one and keep it in this cute box. So, this led me to a beautiful 3D Stationery Box cut file designed by Lori Whitlock and available in the Silhouette Store that would hold all the pieces together. I used different 12x12” and 6x8” patterned papers to put together the box. I decorated the top of the box with a cluster of bits & pieces, cardstock, chipboard, foam, and puffy stickers.
When you open the box, you can see two front pockets filled with different size cards and tags. I added machine stitching details and decorated some of them. Behind these two pockets, you can find a bigger one that holds all of the recipe cards from the collection kit. I am thinking to fill them out with all of our family recipes. There is still space to keep adding cards as needed.
The last pocket keeps a mini album safe. I made a really basic structure using patterned papers and ribbon and also added two pockets inside that hold different cards in them. I decorated some 3x4” and 4x4” cards from the collection kit using brads, bit & pieces, journaling bits, and stickers as well as machine stitching details.
I enjoyed every second I spent creating this project. I hope it inspires you to grab this marvelous collection and create beautiful projects with it. Please let me know if you have any questions.
