Hello friends, it’s Tya here and I am pleased to be able to share with you my latest batch of handmade cards! This time around I was fortunate to work with the simply lovely “Simple Vintage Spring Garden” collection. I have slowly been beginning to love these Simple Vintage collections more and more! I decided to do a little card ensemble that features a whopping 11 cards full of the beautiful icons and ephemera that the Simple Vintage collections have been known to be famous for. Let me show you what I worked on this time!
As you can see, I made 2 each of 4 different cards and 3 each of one set of cards. They have the same card base, but they are decorated differently! I love getting to play with all of the elements of this collection! My favorites by far are all the different types of Ephemera! This collection alone has 5 different types of ephemera! Yes! I thought it would be fun to also turn these cards into spots where you could gift someone a pack of seeds, so they can plant something pretty in their own gardens! Each of my cards will have some seed packets in them. Let me show you my first card set:
These cards are just a simple basic card with a pocket on the inside perfect for adding a seed packet to! They are all layered up with ephemera, doilies, and trim. Notice the cute butterfly embellishment that holds the card closed? These are simply some butterfly bobby pins that I found at the dollar store, but they are perfect to hold these little cuties together, plus I love the added sparkle of the gems!
These next 2 beautiful cards are slimline cards that are perfectly layered up with some of the long cut a parts on the Journal Elements paper. I also make a belly band to keep these closed that are layered up with some of the Chipboard Clusters Ephemera. On the inside, I decorated the left flap and then used some of the pretty Washi Tape from the collection and added 2 seed packets to the right flap.
My next two cards are 2 very fun shaker cards. I used two of the chipboard frames and then added my shaker mix to some tulle. I adhered the tulle to the back of the frame and then glued it to my card base. The tulle adds a soft, feminine touch I think so I love how they turned out. On the inside of the card are more embellishment clusters and then I added some large seed packets to the right panel. Notice the pretty lace ribbon with a fun little butterfly charm added to it- another fun addition to add some interest!
My next two cards are side buckle cards that are held closed by two of the chipboard elements on the Layered Chipboard Stickers. A pocket on the inside holds 2 more seed packets. I did use some gorgeous paper flowers from my stash to pretty these cards up a bit.
My last set of cards is just these fun single-panel cards with a small box-type pocket on the bottom. These are perfect to add a large seed packet and then I did do a quick little card tied with some pretty white lace on the top for a place to add a little note for your recipient.
I am very pleased with how all of these turned out and had an absolutely wonderful time playing with all the bits and pieces of this collection. These cards/gift holders would be perfect for Mother's Day, a birthday, or just for someone with a green thumb who loves to be in their garden! I appreciate you stopping by today and spending some time checking out my cards! Have a wonderful day and we will see you next time! Happy Crafting!
