Hey Simple Stories crafters! It’s Cheryl here on the blog today with the easiest mini album using the beautiful new Simple Vintage Fresh Snow collection.
The Simple Vintage Fresh Snow Basics 12x12 paper kit is the perfect base for this easy mini album! I promise you’re going to have so much fun creating this simple mini to document your photos! The pictures I am using for this project were taken in Germany last month and although it wasn’t snowing, this collection is still so perfect for the time of the year. When I look at the icons and illustrations of this collection I think of frosty winter days - and that was exactly the kind of weather I had during my trip last month.
I used 4 papers from the basics kit and cut them down to 6x10 Inches. I scored each paper at 5 Inches on the long side and folded my papers - which gives me 16 pages in total to decorate. How you bind your album is entire up to you! You can use staples, elastic thread or sew your album (which is what I have done). I poked a couple of holes into the spine and used a very basic stitch to hold my album together.
I wanted some of the beautiful patterns to be featured in my album, so I cut a few 5.75x4.75 Inch layering papers. I have added machine stitching to them for a little bit more texture. For the front cover of my album, I have also used a layering piece of patterned paper, stitched it and distressed the edges. A beautiful oval frame from the chipboard frame set is my background for my title (which is one of the foam stickers). I have also fussy cut flowers from the 12x12 paper ‘Frosted Memories’. The flowers repeat throughout the page, so they’re ideal for layering and create beautiful dimensional flowers! I shaped them a little bit so they pop on my album and used 2-3 layers for each flower. A white sparkly enamel dot is the perfect flower centre!
Now it’s time to decorate the album and add your memories! I have also included a couple of pockets for ephemera, pompom trim on the edges of the paper just for more dimension and ribbon to keep my album closed. I used mini photos and created clusters around them and love the clean look! If you have a handful of photos and want an idea for a super quick and easy mini album, then this is for you! :)
