Hello there Simple Stories friends!
Nathalie with you today to bring you a new project using the super fun HOWDY! collection. I just love the collection is just perfect to document life at the range, or all those cowboys and cowgirls in your life. As soon as I saw the collection, I knew it was going to fit all the pictures of my little cousin and his love for cowboys. Let me show you what I have created:
This entire page is inspired by the jean pocket design/embellishment in the collection. I love the little detail, and wanted to use it for my page.
I copy the design of the pocket and then enlarged it to fit the page. All the pockets were cut from the Let's Ride Paper. I chose to replicate the stitching design in two of the four pockets.
To construct the page, I used the same handstitching design as the pockets to attach the left over piece of the Let's Ride paper to the Out Yonder paper. The small brads just brought to texture and look of real jeans to my page. I used a grid design to attach my pockets leaving space in between them to add my title ( a combination of chipboard and foam stickers)
I attached the pockets, and filled each one of them with pieces of ephemera, stickers and chipboard from the collection and the Simple Pages kit. I fussy cut one of the tags and added my journal lines there. I used one of the pockets to house the story.
I used a pieces from the 3x4 and 4x6 Elements paper to back the picture. I created a cluster of ephemera behind the top left corner of the photos, and then glued it all to the left of the jean strip. A few extra small stars complete this page.
Sometimes ideas turn better than what you expected, such as this layout. I just love how the small pocket was the inspiration for the entire page. Just love the HOWDY! collection. Remember to check it out, you are going to love it, too!
