Hello everyone, it’s @vickiscraps today to share a layout I made with the Hearth & Holiday Collection. This collection is so beautiful - full of traditional colours and icons and perfect for modern and vintage photos. If you don’t have a Christmas collection yet, I definitely recommend this one. I fell in love with the stencil and wanted to make it a focus on my page.
I started by cutting a circle in the centre of the ‘We Believe’ paper - around 6.5 inches in diameter and distressing the edge to ad some texture to the page
Using the stencil and some black ink, I stencilled Santa and his reindeer around the top of the circle. I had to move the stencil for each reindeer to work - you can see how I did that in my process video (link at the end).
I then backed the page with the ‘Merry Christmas to All’ paper. I added some foam around the circle before backing so that it would add some dimension - I didn’t stick the foam to the page because I knew I’d want to tuck things in later.
I used the other half of the stencil with the houses and stars to stencil inside the circle, creating a little village scene by adding some chipboard houses and a Christmas tree.
I then layered up my photo with lots of floral embellishments and some Christmas icons, too creating a 3D effect on my layout--kind of like a dreamy snow globe!
And my title was the final thing to add - Oh What Fun fit the theme perfectly with Santa flying over the layout!
I really hope this inspires you to use this collection, as I said, I loved working with it and I know you will love it too. You can watch my process video on my YouTube channel here if you’d like to see more detail: https://youtu.be/NbVyYuYgSWQ
Thank you so much for looking, until next time, Vicki x
