Hello friends! I'm so excited to share with you a layout using one of my favorite new collections from Simple Stories! The Let's Get Crafty collection is so adorable and absolutely perfect for documenting stories of yourself creating or of kiddos working intently on their own creative projects. For this layout I used photos of my daughter and an old neighbor friend working on painting some pottery projects at a local craft shop.
I had fun using chipboard stickers for my title work as well as some additional chipboard pieces as embellishments. Some foam stickers, dic-cuts and stickers from the sticker book in addition to using four different patterned papers ended up being the perfect mix for this layout to come together. I added some sewing machine stitching to add a subtle border along some of the edges of my patterned papers. I tend to use my sewing machine just for my paper crafting!!
I created an imperfect grid on my layout using three photos instead of four, and using a journaling block that is a bit off center to give that illusion of a square grid.
I love creating layouts that tell actual stories of specific points in time or memories. How about you? Do you find that you focus on milestones and events or people and moments? Do your photos have to do with the direct stories that you are telling on the page or do you mix things up a bit and just focus on the photos? I love how in memory keeping and scrapbooking there is no "right" way to do things.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this project and this collection inspires you to create soon!
