Hello friends, today I am sharing my very first layout for Simple Stories and I am using the new Celebrate collection. Oh wow is this collection fun and so versatile! I am scrapping my niece’s 9th birthday, but it can be used for all sorts of celebrations.
I started by cutting a large number 9 from the "Way To Go!" paper which really pops off my white background and matches my niece’s t-shirt - I wanted it to be front and center on this layout. Once in position I added some watered down ink where I wanted to put my photos so that there was some colour showing on each side. I then used the fabulous stencil and a fine tip grey pen to draw some party shapes into this watercoloured area.

There are so many embellishments in this kit to choose from and I was in danger of overcrowding this layout, but I kept myself in check and embellished around my two photos with lots of party embellishments.
Finally, I created a cluster on the bottom left of my layout - I felt it was needed for balance with the photos toward the right. I used some of the washi tapes to create a mat for a tag and die cut camera and added some more stenciled stars around it for extra interest.
Thank you so much for looking - I hope it inspires you in some way. You can watch my full process here on YouTube to see how it came together: https://youtu.be/MW1IzAcTLA4
Until next time, happy scrapping!
