Hello crafty friend! It's Rebeca Ruiz with a sporty layout, using the new Softball Simple Set by Simple Stories. A few years ago, my daughter was invited to join a softball team, and after giving it a try, she loved it! It was a small group, but they practiced a lot and at the end of the season, they won our town's championship. It was a great experience for the whole family and now I can document those memories with the beautiful Softball Simple Set.
The colors in this mini collection are bright and fun, and since it includes black, I was able to use the photos of my daughter with the orange uniform despite it not being one of the colors included. For my background I used the black paper with words to help the photos stand out.
I used three photos of her playing and cut them in circles to mimic balls. This is fun way to display them in a sport theme layout. To mat the photos, I used white cardstock and patterned papers from the Softball Simple Set. For the biggest photo I used a piece of green paper and also the blue paper with the yellow balls to give this photo more attention and make it the focal point. For the title, I used the "Yay!" sticker banner and a "Softball" die cut from the Page Pieces.
On the bottom of the layout, I added two pieces of patterned paper. They help balance the page by adding some color and by enhancing the theme with the balls and the hearts.
On the sides of the title, I made little clusters of embellishments using the stickers and die cuts from the Simple Set. To anchor the title, I used the yellow strip of die cut that resembles the stitches on the ball. To give them texture, I added stitches using red embroidery thread. Isn't it cute?
To finish the layout, I used a few stickers and die cuts around the photos to enhance them and fill some empty spaces in the layout. It was fun documenting those memories with the cute designs in the Softball Simple Set.
