Large Tag Mini Album Inspired by Big Bits Tag

For this project, I was inspired by the tag in the Big Bits Pack and decided to create a large tag-shaped mini album. I used a mix of tag sizes, with the largest measuring 4.5" x 8". You can create your tags using a cutting machine (manual or electronic), or just a paper trimmer—just be sure to keep your tag corners even.

The front and back covers are both 4.5" x 8" and made with chipboard covered in patterned paper from the 6x8 paper pad. I stitched around the edges for extra texture.

  • Front Cover: Blue-purple tattersall pattern, green eyelet for the hole, the butterfly pieces from Big Bits, the word happy popped up with adhesive, and a few enamel dots.
  • Back of Front Cover: Woodgrain paper

This album celebrates my 40th birthday, with favorite moments and photos from the celebrations. I added the tag from the Bigs Bits Pack that says, "so many beautiful reasons to smile." The only extra detail I added was a row of white machine stitching across the top of the scallop and a couple of purple enamel dots to accent the "i" in the text.

Tag 2 (3.25" x 5.5")
Cut from the 6x8 paper pad—blue floral on the back and a rich pink/orange tattersall pattern on the front. I added two 2x2 photos and layered embellishments and brads for dimension and interest.

Tag 3 (3.25" x 5.5")

Made using the Marigold gingham paper from the coordinating basics pack. I included a 3x4 photo of my grandma and sister, added chipboard butterflies, enamel dots, and a sentiment that reads happiness at the bottom.

Tag 4 – Pocket Tag (3.5" x 6")

The base is the Hyacinth gingham paper. I created a pocket using a brown floral piece sized 2.5" x 3.5" and stitched around the edges. Inside the pocket, I tucked tags cut from the tag cut-apart sheet and added a couple of 2x2 photo strips. The tag is finished with a together banner sticker and a decorative brad with a camera motif. I love the interactive feel this pocket adds to the album.

Tag 5 (3.5" x 6")

For this tag, I used the brown floral paper for the background. I matted a 3x4 photo with the Marigold paper border and added a chipboard phrase that says "It’s a beautiful day” at the top. A few enamel dots in the bottom corner completes the look.

Tag 6 – Another Pocket (4" x 6.5")

Made from the purple polka dot paper. I created a pocket using a pink-orange piece from a previous tag, trimmed to about 4" x 2.5", and stitched it in place. Inside, I added 2x2 photo strips (mounted on coordinating pink paper to form a border) and tags from the cut-apart sheet. For the title, I used a chipboard piece that says Simply Beautiful and added enamel dots for a pop of color.

Tag 7 (4.25" x 7.25")

I created a 4x4 square photo grid using four 2x2 photos. Behind the photo block, I layered pieces from the Ephemera Pack for a clustered look. I added a brad and finished the tag with a "the best" title piece to highlight how much fun I had celebrating with friends and family.

Final Tag – Back Cover (4.5" x 8")

This tag matches the size of the front cover. I added a 4x6 photo, then used scalloped border pieces at the top edge of the photo. I layered on daisies with foam brads in the centers and added the date. To finish, I bound the album using a pink binder ring and tied on some green ribbon that coordinates with the rest of the collection.

This album was so fun to put together, and I hope it inspires you to create your own tag-style mini book! If you make one, I’d love to see it—tag me on Instagram or Facebook so I can cheer you on.

Have a fabulous and crafty day! 💛
