Hooray!
Hey friends, Inessa Persekian @paperandbling on the blog today and I’m excited to show you my True Colors 6x8 Sn@p Binder album today! I am absolutely in love with this collection and had a blast creating this album. My goal is to use it to document 3 years' worth of memories of my two eldest kids at their dance nationals! I've documented 2023 and created space for 2022 and 2024 using the tab dividers that come with the albums.
I started with my cover with a goal to have lots of texture! I used my border punch to punch 25 paper strips, each about 1 inch wide and 6.5 inches long. The final length is shorter, but I did this to make sure it fits perfectly on the cover. You can use an exacto knife to trim off any excess once everything is glued down. I used 6 of the 12x12 patterned papers for this. From the paper pad, I also used the stars papers to punch 9 circles and then folded them to create diamond shapes. To finish the cover I added brads, stickers and chipboard pieces in the center of each diamond and adhered them around the 'Hooray' foam title.
Since I wanted to use this for multiple years/events, I used the 3-tab dividers and covered them in patterned papers. For the pages, I mixed it up between pocket pages as well as outside the pocket pages. Checkout the photos for the variety of looks this gives the album.
For the smile 6x8 pocket page, I used the starburst paper from the 6x8 paper pad and added a 4x6 photo framed in the small floral pattern. To keep the focus on my photo, I kept the embellishments minimal and just added the 'smile' layered chipboard.
For this page, I wanted to create repeating elements and decided on stars. I used a nested star die set from my stash to cut 13 stars in various sizes, mixing different patterns. You can also do this with any shape- hearts, circles, etc. I placed them going from bottom left to top right in decreasing size to help the eye move across the page. Some of the stars are popped up with foam tape and some are layered together.
All in all, I made 12 pocket pages and 4 outside the pocket pages! It's fun to flip through and reminisce. I love mixing up cut aparts with my photos and you'll see that throughout the album. This keeps the album interesting.
Check out my Youtube video here with a walkthrough of the full album. Thank you for being here and I hope this inspires you to create!
Have a fabulous day,
Inessa
