Happy New Year! As with all new years, they bring new calendars! Today I'm sharing an all-through-the-year flip-style calendar featuring the "Hello Today" Collection.
To get started: I used two sheets of 8.5X11 heavyweight kraft chipboard (I purchase from Amazon). I cut the sheets into the following lengths: two pieces of 11"X5" and two pieces 11"X1.75". I covered the chipboard with Color Vibes dot paper and assembled as shown in this quick video tutorial.
After constructing the base, I added three gold tone bar rings (Amazon) to the top. I spaced them by using the cut-apart journal cards as a guide.
I used the "months" 4X6 cards from the collection kit and embellished each one with various components from the collection: cardstock stickers, sticker book stickers, enamel dots, adhesive brads, chipboard stickers, foam stickers, puffy stickers and die-cuts!
For the "days" portion of the calendar, I simply cut cards from the calendar sheets. To give more room at the top of the cards for punching holes, I cut the height to 4.5" instead of 4". There were several cards that ended up having the "bar code" strip, so I simply covered it up with a strip of paper!
I designed the calendar so that the easel portion can be folded flat for easier storage. Again, please take a peek at the quick video of how I made the easel. I will also have a complete walk-through of all of months and days so you can see how I embellished each one :)
Thanks for stopping by!
