Hey everyone! It’s Lory here today to share with you my latest creation for Simple Stories using the SV Weathered Garden collection, I love it to pieces! It's just perfect for treasuring memories of special days. The special day I'm documenting is the baptism of my second boy. I typically have a very minimalistic style, and I just love little details. I really like to play with the pocket pages and use them somewhat as a background for my photos and elements. This collection is so delicate, it's poetic and romantic!
Let's start with showing you how I used all of the different pieces from this wonderful collection!
First thing, the cover! I fell in love with the designed heart and I have just added some little details using the layered stickers and some foam stickers.
Just like all of my albums, I start with an introduction page to share the story behind the project! Today's story was of a awesome and happy day!
For the first page I used a patterned paper and just added a photo and a chipboard frame with a few embellishments. The journaling is an essential part of my albums, so I wrote my story in a journaling card cut from another patterned paper. Remember, the details make the difference!
I filled the second page with some sequins and played with the outside of the page sticking the 4x6 card on the back in the same place a picture with a chipboard frame again.
And here I used 4x6 photos and embellished the pocket pages to add some detail. I love how well these pictures match with the collection!
For the next mix of photos, I used ephemera, a 3x4 journaling card and a 4x6 patterned paper where I added a little title and a subtitle using the foam stickers. I love mixing the different fonts from the collection!
For the next pages I wanted to use black and white pictures of my boys. This collection fits perfectly with them! I always want to tell my stories and I find what is better for the color palette and for the story. Sometimes with the right touches I don’t need to insert journaling. I like to mix black and white and color photos, it gives a beautiful effect.
For my last pages I kept playing with the black and white/colored pictures kind of look. One thing that gave a good point of interest was putting embellishments on the pocket pages instead of on the photos.
