Hi Friends,
It's Rebecca with you on the blog today and I'm so excited to be sharing my first Halloween layout of the year! Halloween is my favourite time of year, and my absolute favourite season to scrap! I've been having great fun creating with the Simple Vintage Scary Stories collection. It's a fa-boo-lous collection full of what I call 'traditional' Halloween colours.
I began by cutting circles from 3 different patterned papers, in 3 different sizes. Next, I cut these circles in half and layered them to create two semi-circles. I arranged them on a sheet of smooth white cardstock, slightly staggered and in the centre.
Along the middle point of the semi-circles, I created a vertical line of ghosts, angling them so it looks like they are floating up the centre of the layout. Some of these ghosts are from the Bits and Pieces, and some are fussy cut from the 3x4 elements patterned paper.
I positioned my photo on the right-hand side, matted with layers of white and then black cardstock behind it to help it 'pop' off the page. Through the centre of the layout I've created my title using banner elements from the Bits and Pieces.
I'm a lover of white space on a layout and so didn't want to embellish this layout too heavily. I feel like the white space really makes the colours in the papers stand out and feel almost dramatic. I've added a couple of chipboard stickers and bats, along with some Decorative Brads, and then finished off with some cardstock sticker stars and some glossy enamel dots.
Thanks so much for reading. I hope you've enjoyed this layout and it provides you with some inspiration.
Wishing you all a fun and spook-filled Halloween!
Take care,
Rebecca xx
