Game On! by Jen Davis

Game On! by Jen Davis
Hey there everyone! I am so excited to be sharing on the blog today! I got to create with the Family Fun collection this week and have been looking forward to sharing my finished layout with you all! I don't know what the weather's been like where you live lately but here in northern Wisconsin we've had a handful of chilly days here and there. Cooler days can be a bummer during the summer but it can also mean getting creative with fun things to do indoors!

Last Christmas Santa brought us some old school (some may say classic) games. These games were nothing new or exciting but they ended up being some of the most used and loved gifts! Some of our favorites were the classic board game of Checkers and the card game Uno. So much fun to pull these out over the summer months this year too! Creating this layout using the Family Fun collection was just a no brainer...absolute perfection for capturing fun times with family!!

For this page I ended up creating a little cluster of elements to the right of my photos which you can see here in the photo. I had fun mixing up some of the foam stickers with the chipboard stickers and some of the paper die-cuts both from the Journal Bits as well as the Bits & Pieces. Both my photos and my little clustered collage of elements are popped up (using three dimensional adhesive) on the row of tags found on one of the patterned papers. I used my craft knife to cut out the notches in-between each tag and my standard hole punch to cut out the holes in each tag so that I could add some bakers twine.

If you haven't noticed yet, my favorite way of adding journaling to my pages is printing it out in Word and then cutting it into strips...it's my go-to when it comes to journaling.

I pulled one of the wood grain sheets of paper from the Color Vibe collection (Hickory) and thought it was the perfect contrast with the colorful plaid going on with the patterned paper that I chose for the bottom portion of my layout.

Here's another peek at that tag patterned paper...I love how it looks like a row of real tags on the page! I think lifting them up with my three dimensional adhesive helped with that.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope your summer is going great and that you're enjoying plenty of beautiful days outside OR inside playing games or watching movies with your family!
