Fun!

Hello Simple Stories friends! Anya's here today and I am beyond excited to share with you a mini album I created with the absolutely stunning Trail Mix collection! I can't say enough how much I love the colors in this line and all of the gorgeous florals and ephemera.

When I see such a cute collection like this, I just have to make another mini book. But if you are not an album maker, you may still get inspired by some little bits and pieces here. One of the tips I did want to share with you, that may apply to all kinds of memory keeping, is a way to use those pretty 3x4 journaling cards you may find in any collection.

So basically, you pick a card from the 12x12 patterned paper that you would like to use, but cut that card together with a card next to it. It may be a card to the left or right, top or bottom, but both cards have to be attached. Next, make a score line where it seperates cards and fold it. Now you may attach your card by the back side and use the inside of this card for additional photos or journaling. It's a very simple interactive element that may be a great addition to any project.

Throughout this mini album I used the same technique over and over again. Also, if you don't mind more bulk, you may create a folded card from white cardstock, and adhere a trimmed 3x4 journaling card to the front, as shown in the next example. Both options can be used the same ways, overlapping other photos and elements in your layouts or mini albums.
