Hi Friends! Andrea with you today sharing a new project using the one and only Happy Hearts collection by Simple Stories. Is it bad to be getting into Valentine’s mode so soon? This collection is a must-have if you are a scrapbooker, cardmaker, and/or memory keeper in general. And, if you are like me and love all things PINK, then you definitely need it. I put together a 3d Mailbox from a Lori Whitlock cut file to keep a mini version of a heart-shaped mini album designed by Amber Mitchell from the Simple Stories Design Team along with Paige Evans.
I first cut the mailbox cut file using two different patterned papers from the collection and machine stitched all the edges. I glued the pieces together and decorated the right side and front of the mailbox layering some chipboard, foam, and cardstock stickers to create two very dimensional and fun clusters.
I then resized the original mini album cut file to make sure it fit inside the mailbox. I used different patterned papers to create the covers and the inside pages. I added machine stitching details around the edges for some texture and decorated the cover with a pretty cardstock sticker in the shape of a banner. I completed it with a decorative brad and a couple of enamel dots. The inside pages are held to the album by a thin pink elastic ribbon. I included 12 pages using 6 ribbons and tied them all together in the middle on the outside. I added a heart foam sticker to cover the knot.
The inside pages are decorated with a few photos and different embellishments from stickers to journaling bits, bits and pieces, and even fussy cut shapes. Everything that you need to make a cute Valentine’s project can be found in the Happy Hearts collection. I will also be creating at least a couple of cute layouts using this fabulous collection.
