Hello everyone! It’s Kylie back with you again today with a brand new layout featuring the Simple Vintage Ancestry collection. I had a photo of my Dad with his siblings from when he was a little baby and knew this collection would be perfect for preserving such a special image. (That’s my Dad in blue!) There is a lovely ‘antique’ vibe to this range but also a very modern colour palette at the same time!
To begin my layout, I trimmed a 1.5cm (15mm) edge from the top and side of the FAMILY TREE paper, before adhering it centred over a piece of the STEEL BLUE/UMBER Ancestry basics paper. I did distress the edges of the Family Tree paper a little first to add a hint of texture. Using the ALWAYS & FOREVER, YESTERYEAR and 4 X 4 ELEMENTS PAPER, I created a layered border strip for the lower part of my page. Each edge was trimmed with a scalloped trimmer for effect. To complete my background design, I also added a square of the LEGACY OF LOVE paper, tucked in under the top edge of the border.
I really love the chipboard frames included in this collection, and for something different have used them as a background feature behind my photo. I adhered one on a sharp angle and layered a smaller frame next to it before adding my photo.
Using the Bits & Pieces as well as the dimensional, Layered Stickers, I have added some balanced clusters either side of my photo. I really love the height that the Dimensional Stickers gave.
To complete my page, I of course had to add an oversized title. I have used the Foam Phrase Stickers to construct a title that was fitting for my layout. This was added below my photo as well as a few hearts for balance.
I really hope you have enjoyed seeing my latest page layout and it inspires you a little with your own scrapbooking.
Take care!
