Hey Simple Stories friends! It’s Cheryl here on the blog today showing you this fun and super easy mini album using Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe that can hold photos, ephemera and embellished clusters.
Chipboard bases are my go-to when it comes to making mini albums from scratch, because it makes them so sturdy, but for this album I chose to use a heavyweight clear acetate instead. I simply cut it down to size, added two score lines and rounded the corners! Done!!
My album measures: 4.75 x 5.75 Inches
I used patterned paper that is around a quarter of an Inch smaller on each side to cover my acetate on the front and back (and spine!). Because it is a bit smaller than my base you can still see the clear acetate, which adds such an interesting touch to the project and gives you a small sneak peek.
I used the flower cart matching die set and created a beautiful floral stand as my focal point on my cover. One of the large chipboard pieces from the collection just sits behind the cart, which gives it an interesting look!
Instead of traditional pages I opted for 2 pockets on each side, which gives you plenty of room to store ephemera and other trinkets! Perhaps some dried flowers too!
To document my Spring photos, I used a cut apart sheet of tags and journal elements and embellished those further with die cuts, foam stickers and lots of enamel dots.
The soft colours of this collection made me want to document all of the pretty flower pictures I took in London this Spring. I hope this inspires you to give different types of album bases a try. It’s super easy and fun to do! :)
