Time For Some Magic! by Cheryl Gerhard

Time For Some Magic! by Cheryl Gerhard
Hey Simple Stories friends! Cheryl here today with a cute project for all your amazing memories!

Fantasy at the park is such an adorable collection and the colours are so lovely too. I’ve always wanted to create an album in the shape of an instant camera I have at home, and I thought this was the perfect collection for it.

Here’s the plot twist: I didn’t use any fancy tools, because I wanted this to be as simple as possible and I wanted everyone to be able to recreate it, without owning 10 different tools to cut, shape etc.

I grabbed a piece of chipboard and traced around the camera and simply used my scissors to get my chipboard base cut. I used these for the front cover as well as back for my album and covered them in my favourite pink patterned paper from the collection kit. Here’s a tip: if you’re covering a unique shape of chipboard, just cut lots of slots about half an inch or quarter inch apart (depending on the shape) and you’ll be able to wrap paper around curved edges without any issues!

I also cut a smaller chipboard piece for my spine to hold my front and back cover together. And of course, I had to turn the camera lens into a shaker! I used the Snap circle photo crops to trace around my paper and used scissors to cut them. They are definitely not perfect, but this is a handmade project and I think it adds personality to it. I used a sequin mix from my stash that matches the collection and simply glued the shaker onto the front cover to create a super cute camera lens.

I create a hidden hinge for my pages and used a chipboard piece I cut out earlier for my template. I added stitching to every page for more added detail and I thought gold metallic thread was the perfect magical touch for this collection.
Seam binding holds this album together (in case it gets super bulky with all of those fun pictures!)

And to finish this adorable project I cut out circles with the snap circle photo crops to create very sparkly ears!
I think it turned out super cute and it is so easy to recreate. The only things you need: pen, scissors, adhesive, chipboard and this adorable Fantasy at the park collection.
