BABY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE

BABY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE

Hello, crafty friends! Happy Friday! It’s Celes here @guiademanualidades, ready to share my new project. Time to make a lovely layout! Do you have special memories of enjoying the snow or cold weather? Today, we’re using the beautiful products from the SV Fresh Snow collection. Let’s get started!

This time, I couldn’t resist using some of the most beautiful photos from my trip to Iceland with my love, Sebas. We spent two incredible weeks filled with unforgettable moments and unique memories. There’s so much to create that choosing was the hardest part! And if there’s one product I absolutely love from Simple Stories collections, it’s the chipboard frames.

Layout Base:
I used a 12×12 warm white cardstock sheet as the base.
I chose two papers: one from the Collector Kit and another from the Vintage Basic collection. I trimmed 1/4" off two sides of the first paper and 1/2" off all sides of the second paper to create layered effects for the base.
I added stitched details to the final layer.
I adhered the photo to the chosen frame and attached a ribbon to make it look like it's "hanging" from my composition. You can use any ribbon you like or have at home that matches the collection's color palette.
Next, I applied gesso with a spatula to create a background border for my photo frame. As I continue adding embellishments, I will expand this area.
Once the gesso dried, I adhered the frame in place with 3D foam.
Finally, I fussy-cut flowers in different sizes from the 12x12 and 6x8 paper packs.

Time to decorate! And when it comes to that, layers are everything— the more, the better! 3D foam is a must for adding dimension. As you’ll see in the materials list, I incorporated many embellishments and accessories from the collection. They’re simply amazing and perfect for creating stunning layers!

Decorative details:
The first piece I added with 3D foam was my frame with the photo (already attached). It’s the central piece, and its position will determine the rest of the decoration.
Since the ribbon gives the impression that the frame is "hanging" from the composition, I wanted it to have some dimension as well, so I added 3D foam to the back. It also has two extra details: two flowers and a white brad that simulate the frame's attachment point.
Then, I created a floral arrangement with some branches and other layered natural elements. You’ll also notice that I combined phrases from the foam sticker set, the cardstock stickers, and one that I cut from the 6x8 paper pad.
As I added the layers of flowers, I gradually expanded the gesso base.
As a final touch, I added some snowflakes from the rub-ons set and a piece in the top left corner, embellished with gesso, enamel dots, and a foam sticker.

And it’s all set! I hope this idea inspired you to create your own version of this layout. There’s truly nothing more special than capturing our memories in such a beautiful way. Can’t wait to see what you create! Until next time! XXOO, Celes.
