Hello Simple Stories friends, it’s Becki here to share a layout with you that I created using the Acorn Lane collection. Fall is my favorite season to scrapbook, hands down! I love to scrapbook about the crisp fall days, pumpkins, leaves, and all the fun things that this season brings. Each year when the leaves are changing colors my husband and I take a drive through the mountains to see the beautiful colors that fill the mountain sides.
Of course, the Acorn Lane collection is a favorite of mine. I’ve had so much fun working with this collection and creating beautiful layouts! (A mini album is on my list of things to create too!)
I fell in love with the white patterned paper and knew that I wanted to use it for a background. I also fell in love with the plaid patterned paper in this collection. I decided to use a yellow gingham paper and a few other patterned paper strips across the top of my layout. I wanted a cluster of embellishments along that patterned paper strip and a spot for my journaling. Tags from the tags patterned paper are a great way to anchor embellishment clusters. I used three tags in that embellishment cluster.
I looped some white crochet thread through the holes of each of the tags and across the page. I carefully adhered the thread with liquid glue so that it will stay in place. I also added some adhesive brads in each of the holes of the tags on top of the crochet thread. I LOVE the finished look that adhesive braids add to the tags.
My favorite photo is front and center on this scrapbook page. I printed this photo at home at 3 1/2 x 5. Next to the photo, I created the title using foam stickers. Of course, around the title, I added a few more embellishments. I used lots of layers of foam adhesive to create several different heights of embellishments.
As I added a few finishing touches to this layout, I realized that I didn’t use any rub-ons. Rub-ons are a newer product to Simple Stories. Rub-ons’s don’t last forever so I’m making a conscious effort to use them on every project that I create. They’re SO much fun! I couldn’t resist adding one of my favorite quotes to the top of the page. I LOVE that this quote was included in this collection.
I am so happy with how this page came together! I can’t wait to create ever more layouts using the Acorn Lane collection. I’d love to see what you’re creating with the Acorn Lane collection!!
