Shellye McDaniel's Blog Posts

Hello!  Shellye here today with a set of three fun cards featuring all sorts of pieces from a few of the SN@P! Pack Collections.

To accommodate the larger 4X6 journal cards, I chose to use 5X7 card bases for each one.

For the first card, a 3x3 square from the "Fresh" pack was used for the sentiment piece.  A smaller 1.25" wide strip was cut from one of the other cards and layered side-by-side onto a mat of blue dot paper.  To tie in with the blues in the banner and bow, the assembled piece was then attached to a 4X6 arrow card from the collection.

I love this sentiment from the "Epic" SN@P! Pack; it's an endearment in the simplest fashion!  I dressed up the 'white' areas of the 4X6 sentiment card with two halves of a 2.5" circle that was die cut from the back side of one of the cards.  A few die-cut embellishments, enamel dots and this card was complete!

The final card features some lovely pieces from the "Lovely" set.  The 4X4 square was centered onto the 4X6 card and machine stitched in place.  Next, a circle was die cut from one of the cards and added with foam adhesive.  The embellishment pieces were clustered together and a burlap heart from the DIY collection just added to the homespun feel of the card.

Hi everyone! Shellye here to share an easy-to-make gifting mini album using the "I Am" Collection

To begin I started with three of the components from the Interactive Elements: the larger 4X6 flip element, the matchbook element and the tri-fold element:

I adhered the two smaller elements to the inside pages of the 4X6 element with a high-tack adhesive.

The front was decorated with chibpoard stickers and a ribbon bow.

When the album is first opened, the original pages from the 4X6 element is given.  I added a strand of washi tape, a chipboard butterfly, etc.  The opposite page was left blank.

When the page is turned, you will find the tri-fold element has been added to the right-hand page.

Here is a close-up of the front of the tri-fold.

To the inside of the tri-fold, a 3X4 journal card was attached.  The other pages were left plain so that small photos or journaling can be added.

As you go further into the 4X6 flip element, the pages get larger.  The left-hand side of the page was lightly embellished and the right-hand side is where the matchbook-style element was added.

Just the front of the matchbook element was embellished; the inside pages were left as-is.

I wanted the back of the album to be a bit more sturdy, so a piece of medium-weight chipboard was cut slightly smaller than the 4X6 size.  After adhering the chipboard to the back page, a covering was made by adding one of the 4X6 journal cards.

Now I have the perfect little girlie-girl gift on hand...with a teenaged daughter, we're always needing a last-minute gift for a friend :)

Supplies

Hi everyone!  Shellye along today with a perfectly adorable and "Enchanted" door hanger for any little princess in your life.

I started with a sheet of heavy weight chipboard and an album die from Top Dog Dies, but any pre-made chipboard shape would work. Next, I cut the shape from the "Dreams Come True" paper and distressed around the edges with a walnut ink before attaching to the chipboard base.

The edge was trimmed in a pom pom ribbon along the back of the chipboard.  For a nice finishing touch, I also covered the back in a coordinating paper.

The focal point of the hanger was made with a couple of die-cut hearts from the Enchanted 6X6 Paper Pad and the center piece is a smaller chipboard shape hosting the sweet sentiment that was cut from the 4X6 Journaling Card Elements paper.

Extra dimension was added with various chipboard stickers pieces, decorative Bradz, Enamel Dots and Bits & Pieces die cuts.  To create the hanger, two holes were punched at the top and a strand of 1.5" grosgrain ribbon was strung through and then knotted at the ends.  Two boutique style bows were made and then attached above the knotted ribbon ends.  Now it's all ready for gift-giving or hanging!
