Something Old, Something New
Howdy friends, Layle with you here today!
Wanted to share a layout I recently made mixing some old Simple Stories with some new -
Last month I had a whirlwind trip, I was in 3 countries – the US, the UK and Mexico – over a period of 11 days. 6 airports, 3 cities and 13,361 miles! To say it was a tad crazy would be an understatement!
For the base of the layout I used one of the Simple Basics papers from our Urban Traveler collection. I love this paper, it has a faint world map in the background - perfect for my world travels! I combined that 'something old' with some papers and letter stickers from our new DIY collection. I used the different colored alpha stickers for the airport codes for each of the 6 different airports I was in over the course of the trip.
Here's a tip I've been taking advantage of more and more lately - if you don't have a chance to capture a photo, or the perfect photo, check Google! In this case, I had great photos from the UK and Mexico portions of my trip; however, I was only in New York overnight, so I didn't have a photo. I searched Google for New York City photos, found the one seen here of the Statue of Liberty and printed it out on my printer.
If you have old (but still good!) Simple Stories paper floating around - especially the Simple Basics, they're good for so many different things! - I encourage you to pull them out and create a 'Something Old, Something New' project!
