Today Vicki Boutin joins us with a clever pool party inviration our Good Day Sunshine collection, several Xyron products and some May Arts ribbon to make some really fun fish!
Hey there! Vicki here with some with some MayArts, Xyron and Good Day Sunshine fun! I love product swaps and I was particularly excited to be teaming up with MayArts and their gorgeous ribbons and trims and adding some fabulous adhesive options from the folks at Xyron. With the sunshine and hot weather upon us I decided I wanted to create a card for my daughter's upcoming birthday party. Here is what I came up with…
I fashioned a few little fishies from ribbon and added them to my invite.
Here are the steps I followed to create the fish and the Xyron adhesive I used to help me in this task:
Cut a 6 1/2" piece of 5/8" ribbon, a 4 1/2" piece and two 1" pieces of 1/4" ribbon.
Fold the 6 1/2" ribbon to create a fish shape.
Pinch the space below the fish "body".
Tie the 4 1/2" ribbon where the ribbon is "pinched". Form the shape of the 'body" and tie the 4 1/2" ribbon in a knot.
Here is an image of the ribbon tied from the back
Trim the ends of the 1/4" ribbon.
Trim the a "v" from the ends of the fish's tail.
Using Xyron Adhesive Dots, add the "fins" to the top and bottom of the fish's body.
Add the fish to the card with Xyrons double side High Tack Tape.
Here is another look at the completed card…
I used the Xyron Mega Runner to assemble the pieces of the card. The Good Day Sunshine 4x6 Vertical Elements "heart border" make the perfect backdrop for the fish!! And it was quick fix…that's why I love my Simple stories!!!
The Xyron 3" Sticker Maker came in handy when adhering the little "bubbles".
I finished the card off with a few Good Day Sunshine Fundamental stickers, Good Day Sunshine Expression stickers, Good Day Sunshine Enamel Dots and a piece of MayArts twine.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are inspired to try creating a few fun critters with ribbon and glue!
