Today Nancy Damiano joins us with with this darling layout about her son as a baby-
Hello there! Nancy here with a Hello Baby collage with photos from the past. My baby boy is all grown up now, but I still have so many old baby photos that I love and want to scrapbook. This shot is dramatic and I emphasized that by changing it from color to a black and white print and enlarging it to roughly 5.5x12. One of the things that I love most about the Hello Baby collection is its versatility. Not only can it be gender neutral, but it can also be used for pages that are heavily themed or not.
I chose a cool color palette of grey, yellow and aqua to complement the black and white of the photo. I was also lucky enough to be able to use some Thermoweb adhesive products to piece my project together. To attached the large photo to the background, I used the supersticky Thermoweb Kraft Adhesive Tape in the 1/2 inch size. It's perfect for full coverage of heavier items.
To balance the large photo, I cut a series of irregular squares and rectangles from patterned paper to create the collage on the bottom half of the layout. The chipboard, sewing, tags and stamping add to the handmade feel and give it a lift. I used the Thermoweb sticky dot runner to attach all of the small elements of the collage. I also added Thermoweb glitter dust photo corners to frame out the white cardstock.
Adding the journaling right in the photo, draws the eye back to the focal point – my boy! The chipboard star, row of enamel dots and die cut give the area a pop of color and dimension. To attach the intricate die cut title, I used the Thermoweb sticky dot sheet that gave me perfect coverage.
Thanks Simple Stories and Hello Baby for the perfectly adorable collection and Therm O Web for the great adhesives!
