Fan Focus Friday

Fan Focus Friday

Hi there!  Layle here with you today :)

Today I'm back with another Fan Focus Friday

We have so many great Simple Stories fans out there that we thought it would be fun to showcase some of the work shared with us.

So, here goes!

This month, let me introduce you to Chantalle McDaniel.  I discovered Chantalle a few months ago via Instagram when I saw her AMAZING work using our products and I couldn't wait to share them here with you!

Originally from South Africa, my hubby and I moved to Brisbane, Australia from London. I have two little scallywags aged 8 and 4 who provide me with plenty of inspiration with their crazy antics! Scrapping for me, is an important and joyful way to tell my children stories about our lives together. You can find me (with links to other media) at my blog www.copasetique.blogspot.com or on Instagram, user: chantallemcdaniel

'Summer is Here' mini album - Good Day Sunshine

Having the journalling card elements on a sheet instead of being individually trimmed, is very useful in my opinion. It gives you the flexibility of using a whole row to create little projects like fold out cards or in this case, a mini album.

I have used a gatefold to reveal more of the album contents, which includes a pocket made from a single journalling card that has been folded; slide out photos and a tag featuring misting, where I used the negative of the chipboard stickers as a stencil.

'Pretty & Fabulous' - DIY Boutique

I have always been drawn to bright colours and patterns - this DIY Boutique collection just rocks!  The Silhouette store carries an awesome collection of Simple Stories cut files and I was inspired to use the 'butterflies' file, adjusting the path to leave some parts attached to the page, giving the illusion of flight. The word ‘fabulous’ has been drawn instead of cut, using the pen tool attachment and filled in by hand.

'A Charmed Life' - A Charmed Life

One of the things I love most about Simple Stories collections, is how patterns are backed up with basics. I like to pair a busy theme with something neutral, to really make the most of the little details. I’m a sucker for a woodgrain print and I love how the simple colours have a subtle distress to them. Plain is certainly not boring!

'Tickety Tock' clock - ‘Daily Grind’

Sitting pride of place on my desk, is this altered clock. The prompts in Daily Grind (and so many other SS collections) lend themselves beautifully to lots of situations we find ourselves in on a daily basis!

My hubby even got in on the action with this one, fitting moving parts inside the clock frame!

'Enjoy Today' - DIY Boutique

Teensy stickers, glossy enamel dots, pockets and brights, I am in love! I adore incorporating interactive elements on my projects. Pop goodies into pockets and hide photos with a sneaky mini on your page...

… Create one easily with a block of squares and fold in to hide journalling and extra pictures.

What a talented, designer!!!  Thank you SO MUCH Chantalle for sharing your work with us - we just love it!!
